On April, the Canadian Cultural Centre is highlighting the power and creativity of Canadian women artists.
On April 16th at 8pm, we invite you to an online evening dedicated to Canadian singer-songwriter BEYRIES, in partnership with the Canadian Women Association in Paris! Join us on our Facebook page and our YouTube channel for an immersion in her refined and sincere musical universe, with the exclusive unveiling of her latest video “Nous sommes” (scripted by Raphaëlle Chovin and directed by Quebec actor Maxime Le Flaguais).
Virtual conversation moderated by Nathalie Lesage, freelance-journalist and member of the Canadian Women Association in Paris.
Amélie Beyries grew up in the Montreal neighbourhood of Outremont, where she began composing songs on her grandmother’s piano at an early age. She kept her songs to herself for a long time to preserve her pure love of music and the inner joy that songwriting brought her.
BEYRIES had already lived several lives when she launched Landing in 2017. From her first concert – a baptism by fire opening for Martha Wainwright – the audience was delighted by her performance. With this first album, she experienced dazzling success in Quebec. Inspired by artists who create real moments of intimacy with their music, BEYRIES tells simple and sincere stories. As a singer-songwriter, she plays not only to entertain but also to build lasting relationships.
BEYRIES has developed a singular approach to writing, taking pleasure in creating a narrative thread through her albums. Surrounded by precious collaborators, she accompanies her music with elaborate orchestrations without giving up the power of simplicity.
Released in November 2020, her new album Encounter is available on Bonsound.
