The Cultural Arena: New approaches for a pandemic era
Virtual Roundtables organized by FICEP
September 29th, 2020 - October 01st, 2020
In 2002, 26 international cultural centres in Paris came together, beyond the framework of bilateral agreements, to create a unique network: FICEP (Forum des instituts culturels étrangers à Paris or Forum of Foreign Cultural Institutes in Paris).
FICEP is an arena for multilateral reflection on culture and the conditions needed for it to thrive in a globalized context. Since its inception, this initiative has aimed to promote and enhance cultural and linguistic diversity in a world where culture has had to contend with global crises.
18 years later, the need to address pressing questions and issues is just as vital given the pandemic crisis of 2020 which led to much of the world coming to a halt and further weakening of an already troubled sector.
What future for culture in an uncertain world?
FICEP has organised 3 international round tables with the intention of taking stock of the current situation across the world as well as highlighting the many initiatives that have emerged in recent months.
Join a panel of cultural experts including practitioners and professionals from key institutions via the Zoom platform on Tuesday 29, Wednesday 30 September and Thursday 1 October.
