Every year in March, the Canadian Cultural Centre celebrates the richness and vitality of the Francophonie in Canada throughout  Francophonie Month.

On March 29 at 8pm, book your seats for a pop, groovy and funky concert with Franco-Ontarian artist Yao: an emblematic figure of the Francophone music scene in Canada!

Songwriter, performer, poet, slammer, writer… Just like his music, which is a cross between jazz, pop, groove and funk, Yao is an eclectic artist who charms us with his deep baritone voice, the warmth of his poetry and his audacity on stage. With his love of words and language, YAO captivates and transports his audience: his imaginative and sensitive writing brings to mind MC Solaar, Abd al Malik and Oxmo Puccino.

After seven nominations at the 2015 Gala des prix Trille Or for his album “Perles et Paraboles”, Yao saw his album “Lapsus” reach the 24th position of the Top 200 of new French music on iTunes Canada in 2016. This was followed by an international tour in Canada, France, Madagascar, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. After two new nominations at the Gala des Prix Trille Or in 2017, he received the Médaille Commémorative du Sénat for his work in promoting cultural diversity in Canada.
