Hubert Damisch, Jana Sterbak
Waiting for High Water

With “Waiting for High Water” (2005), presented for the first time in France at the Canadian Cultural Centre – in collaboration with the Galeria Toni Tàpies (Barcelona) and the Galerie Erna Hécey (Br ussels) – Jana Sterbak continues her experimentation with technology and new media. This magnificent œuvre is the second part of a multiple-channel installation project presenting a videographic “composition” created with the help of a dog-performer named Stanley, used as the carrier of the image-taking device. The first part, entitled “From Here to There”, was presented at the Canada pavilion during the 50th Venice Biennale in 2003.
