Canadians on the Nile

Almost a century has passed since C.T. Currelly, Canada’s first egyptologist and founder of the Royal Ontario Museum, conducted his excavations in Egypt. After a long absence from the field, Canadian egyptologists returned to Egypt in the 1970s. They made a major contribution to the development of this fascinating field of study and to the discovery and protection of the ancient monuments on the banks of the Nile and in a far away oasis in the Sahara Desert.
