A concert-performance conceived and performed by violist Benjamin Rota, dedicated to contemporary Quebec compositions for solo viola. Through a programme bringing together works by Denis Plante, François Dompierre, Maxime Goulet, Charles-Vincent Lemelin, Simon Bourget, Maxime Jacquet, Matthis Péloquin and several other composers from the current Quebec scene, Éclat(s) d’alto offers a sensitive, vibrant and deeply contemporary sonic immersion centred on an instrument rarely placed in the spotlight: the viola.

Conceived as a lively and immersive experience, the project blends music, spoken word and a close connection with the audience in a free-form and deeply human manner.

Founder of AltoFest in Quebec as well as the ensembles La Camerata and La Chambre Harmonique, Benjamin Rota has for several years been developing a committed programme focused on promoting contemporary Canadian music in Europe and Canada.
