// CANCELLED // The Canadian Cultural Centre invites you to the Librairie du Québec for a literary discussion with Quebec author Christian Guay-Poliquin for the release of his new novel Les ombres filantes (La Peuplade).

In the forest, a lone man walks towards the hunting camp where his family has taken refuge to escape the upheaval caused by a widespread power outage. He knows he’s in danger and heads into the mountains, following trails and streams. Follow his journey and immerse yourself in this post-apocalyptic world. Come and learn more about the author’s creative process and his relationship with the land, while addressing the themes he wanted to bring out in Les ombres filantes, such as the sense of community and survival in nature.

Les ombres filantes  follows Le fil des kilomètres (2013) and Le poids de la neige (2016), which has been translated in many countries and was awarded the Governor General’s Award in Canada, the Prix France-Québec and the Prix Libr’à Nous in France.

The conversation will be followed by a book-signing .
