Le poids de la neige, Guay-Poliquin, Editions Babelio, janvier 2019.

Canadian actress Geneviève Boivin and Canadian writer Christian Guay-Poliquin present a reading of the theatrical adaptation they produced based on the novel Le Poids de la Neige.

Christian Guay-Poliquin’s Le Poids de la Neige (translated in many countries and awarded by the Governor General’s Award of Canada, the France-Québec Prize and the Libr’à Nous Prize in France) tells the story of an old man and an injured young man who are secluded during a harsh winter in a village surrounded by forest and paralyzed by a mysterious power failure.

The play, is a monologue that gives us the point of view of the old man at the bedside of the injured young man. This is the second “solo act” by actress Geneviève Boivin, who adapted and performed Gloria la si peu glorieuse from Michel Tremblay’s Le Trou dans le mur in 2014.

This presentation will be followed by an exchange between the actress,  the author and the audience about the novel, the play and their journey as artists.
