Take to the roads of North America with Théâtre de la Pire Espèce! This company specialising in object theatre presents The Ballad of Jimmy Jones and His Heavenly Truck. Immerse yourself in an absurd world full of humour and astonishing poetry. Reserve your place.

All ages 12 and up

On the highways of an imaginary America of the 1950s, Jimmy Jones Jr. tells us the tales and misfortunes of his father, a most unusual man. Steeped in nostalgia, we revisit diners, car washes and drive-ins, as well as fields that stretch as far as the eye can see.

In his father’s shadow, Jimmy tries as best he can to free himself from this stifling male model. A reflection on archetypes and the male figure from a time not so long ago.

La Pire Espèce has been borrowing techniques from different disciplines such as puppetry, theatre of objects, clowning, cabaret and street theatre. By exploring the creative process, it explores stage conventions and the rules of dramatic narration, and seeks to establish a close complicity with the audience.
