While internal quarrels have divided her clan, Maïna (Roseanne Supernault), the daughter of a great Innu chief and a spirited young woman, sets of in pursuit of the Inuit who kidnapped Nipki, a young village boy.
Captured in turn, she is taken far from her territory, into a world of snow and cold where she has to face her fear of the other. She falls in love with Natak (Ippellie Ootoova) and hesitates between the desire to go back to her family and that of learning Inuit traditions in order to be accepted.
