In the presence of Robert Lepage

Multidisciplinary artist Robert Lepage is a playwright, stage director, actor and filmmaker. Taking his inspiration from contemporary history, he has written and directed extraordinary works that set new standards in stagecraft, particularly through the use of new technologies.

The programme Triptyque Robert Lepage presents three films that represent three points of view on Lepage’s prolific and singular oeuvre:

Robert Lepage
 by Jeremy Peter Allen / 2009 / 6 min

A portrait of Robert Lepage. For the artist, every production begins with a desire to explore and discover. Marrying technology with ritual and magic with cutting-edge effects, Lepage’s work reinvents the theatrical space.

The Image Mill Revealed
by Marie Belzil and Mariano Franco / 2009 / 52 min

This documentary describes the final three months leading up to the opening of Moulin à images, a unique performance-event directed by Robert Lepage celebrating the 400th anniversary of Quebec City.

Triptych by Robert Lepage and Pedro Pires / 2013 / 94 min

Inspired by Robert Lepage’s theatrical project LipsynchTriptych is a contemporary urban saga that tells the story of three lives and three crossed destinies.

Free admission, subject to availability; reservations required.

A programme presented in collaboration with the National Film Board of Canada.
