April 22nd, 2023
16:00 - 18:30
As part of the opening of the exhibition Wetland Project on April 22 on Earth Day, book your seat to attend the live performances of Wetland Senario by Les Cris de Paris under the artistic direction of Geoffroy Jourdain, at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.
Wetland Senario is a transcription into a musical score of soundscapes from field recordings of the ṮEḴTEḴSEN marsh in unceded W̱SÁNEĆ territory (Saturna Island, British Columbia). For ten years, this “more-than-human” soundscape featuring birds, frogs, insects and airplanes has been investigated by artists Brady Marks, Mark Timmings and musicologist Stephen Morris.
Les Cris de Paris, one of France’s most innovative musical ensembles, will perform their French creation of Wetland Senario three times during the opening:
- Adèle Carlier, Cécile Larroche, Michiko Takahashi – sopranos
- Cécile Banquey – mezzo-soprano
- Constantin Goubet – tenor
- Geoffroy Buffière, Sorin Adrian Dumitrascu – basses
- Geoffroy Jourdain – artistic direction
Les Cris de Paris are sponsored by the Ministry of Culture / DRAC Île-de-France, Île-de-France Region and the City of Paris. They are associated artists at the Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, and in residence at Points communs, Scène nationale de Cergy-Pontoise / Val d’Oise.
