The 49th edition of the International Comics Festival of Angoulême will be held this year from March 17 to 20! Visit our booth to meet a dozen comic book authors and illustrators from across Canada!

The artists making the transatlantic journey are as diverse as their work… there will be something for everyone!

  • Alexander Forbes for Hobtown Mystery Stories.
    Moderation: Frédéric Potet – On March 18 at 4pm, at the Forum du Nouveau Monde
  • Coming in, coming out, conversation with Canadian artist Jessica Campbell, Swedish artist Anneli Furmark and French journalist Elodie Font
    On March 19 at 12pm, at the Theatre (Bagouet studio)
  • When Mortelle Adèle meets l’Agent Jean, conversation with Canadian creator Alex A., and French creators Antoine Dole & Diane Le Feyer
    On March 19 at 5.30pm at the CGR in Angoulême
  • Canadian comics, with Canadian creators Jimmy Beaulieu, Philippe Girard, Veronica Post.
    Moderation: Maël Rannou – On March 20 at 11am, at the Nemo Room (Vaisseau Moebius, Cité de la BD).

Canadian artists awarded during the 49th edition of the Festival are:

  • Julie Doucet with the Grand Prix de la Ville d’Angoulême
  • Anne-Marie Saint-Cerny & Christian Quesnel for Mégantic, un train dans la nuit (Ecosociété) with the Prix Eco-Fauve RAJA
  • Michael DeForge for Familiar Face (L’Association and Drawn & Quarterly) with the Fauve – Daring Prize.
  • Alexandre Fontaine Rousseau & Francis Desharnais for La Conquête du cosmos (Pow Pow) with the Prix BDGest du Meilleur Comics
  • Brigitte Archambault with the Prix “La Ville d’Après” by Angoulême in partnership with UNESCO’s Creative Cities in Literature.
