(Français) Lyon BD Festival
20th edition
Hôtel de Ville
June 13th, 2025 - June 15th, 2025
The Lyon BD festival returns to what has been its DNA since its creation: bringing international comics to the public in Lyon. For this 20th edition, the festival is revitalizing its collaboration with the Québec BD festival by welcoming a delegation of Quebecois authors for a series of signing events and a meeting on the singularity of Quebecois comics. Expected to attend are Cathon, Iris Boudreau, Jean-Paul Eid, Jimmy Beaulieu, Philippe Girard and Samuel Cantin.
In addition to the festival, Croquer la ville, a major retrospective exhibition of the work of cartoonist Jean-Paul Eid is on show at the Cité Musée Tony Garnier until September 21, 2025. Jean-Paul Eid is a major figure in Quebecois comics, recognized as much for the singularity of his line as for the depth of his stories. His work stands out for its ability to blend humor, social criticism and the exploration of contemporary issues. A series of visit-meetings with Jean-Paul Eid is associated with this exhibition.
In addition to this focus on Quebecois comics, some one hundred authors, notably from Lebanon and Brazil, are expected to take part in this edition, which combines travel and discovery, under the banner of comics!
