October 05th, 2013
From 6pm to 2am at the Canadian Cultural Centre, as part of Nuit Blanche 2013.
L’entre-images, a video compilation by seven Quebec artists, offers a glimpse into the immense production of images that characterizes today’s world. This notion of the inter-image, borrowed from the theorist Raymond Bellour, implies that we must search in depth, dig deeper into the surface of the images, and not simply pass from one to the other distractedly. In these short videos, a variety of subjects are addressed, touching on politics, popular culture, the television and cinematic imagination as well as poetic images.
Sophie Bélair-Clément, Olivia Boudreau, Jacynthe Carrier, Michel de Broin, Pascal Grandmaison, Frédéric Lavoie and Aude Moreau do not define themselves as video or filmmakers, but as visual artists motivated by the exploration of the moving image.
In partnership with La Fabrique d’expositions and the Galerie de l’UQAM in Montreal.
Exceptional opening of the exhibition “Stan Douglas. Abandonment and Splendour” for Nuit Blanche 2013
